Festivities!

It's been a while since I went to a festival, a real one. Not just a simple town fiesta in the suburbs, but such celebrations that are quite popular. It's nothing related to religion of any sorts. I just wanted something to look forward to every month, not that I have nothing to look forward to. Just because, okay? Do I really need to have concrete reasons?

Oh well, forget the reasons. Here are the list of the festivities I wanted to go to this year. I may have gone to some, but I have not gone to most of them.

Holidays 2011

I did not have quite the best holiday so far, but I am still thankful that I was able to spend the holidays with utmost happiness and contentment at heart somehow. Let me share to you a summary of 'My Holidays 2011 in pictures'.

Since I wasn't able to book a ticket home for Christmas eve, I decided to spend the 24th with my pals from the office. We went straight to Seafood Island after work and headed to Moose Grill after learning that we ran out of beer already. Talk about being alcoholics (and I am so not).

'Twas a Beery Christmas after all.

Summer in December Weekend

We've been planning to go on an outing trip for ages and thankfully this one became a success. And so we headed to Club Balai Isabel. By we,  I meant my team, along with the Ivan Parco and Jaypee Santos.

Twas a sunny Saturday morning when we headed to Batangas. I did not know exactly which route we passed since I was like asleep the whole trip because of an upset stomach. Alas, we arrived at our destination way earlier than expected, thanks to the brilliant driving skills of Ms. Arianne Sy. It wasn't time to check-in yet so we looked around and did some picture-taking! After a quite while, we went to Tagaytay to grab some lunch at Carlo's Pizza.

Unfortunately, because of my upset stomach that was probably brought by the iced tea I drank while on our way without having breakfast, I ended up throwing up during lunch maybe because the iced tea triggered my hyperacidity. I really felt sick and all I wanted to do was lie down in bed. Good thing when we got back to the hotel, we can already check in. So I just then I went to my bed and sleep. I was just awakened later that night when it was time for dinner, which simply implies I was asleep the whole afternoon (lame. loser. boo!).

Thanksgiving!

Filipinos don't usually celebrate Thanksgiving. But since there are a lot of things we are so thankful about, why not celebrate it together with those from the Western part of the world? Well, minus the turkey and the pumpkin pie of course. Besides, it's Jaypee Santos' birthday so why not celebrate?

Here's how our Thanksgiving party went, in pictures!

A Short Break

I just had my shortest vacation ever that fell on a loooong weekend.

Oct 29 - My flight bound to Bacolod was at 10:05 AM. I didn't know what happened, but despite of several reminders that I need to be at the airport earlier since a lot of people are going home, I left my apartment around 9:15 AM. My cousin (who is also my housemate) is the one getting more nervous than I am. She keeps sending me BBM asking if I missed my flight or not.

The Last Quarter

For this year, I believed to have lived a life with 'a curse'. That curse is to lose something very important, one each for every quarter. Now that October just started, I have to be extra careful with my valuables. I won't post the things I lost until end of the year, coz I'll have to see for myself yet if this curse would really take one more stuff away from me. For now, there are just a few things that makes me excited for 'The Last Quarter'.

Labor Day

-->
It’s the first of May, and I don’t feel like welcoming it due to some personal, silly reasons. But my cousin is very insistent that we go out so after going to church we went to SM North EDSA. Trivia: Did you know that it was the first time that my cousin went there. Uh-huh! You’ve read that one right. She has been working here in Manila for a quite some time now, say 3 years, but she was not able to set foot to the said mall. Maybe she was not just that kind of mall person like me.

The Picnic

I have been going out for two consecutive nights already. Now, the time has come that I should just sit and chillax under a relaxing environment. So, I went together with my Ates in the office to Rainforest, Pasig City (which was a long way from my place pala, so I was practically tired going to and fro). The sun was not so hot and the coolness of the air that surrounds us is just right. It was a perfect day for a picnic. But technically, what we had was only half-way to picnic because we were not able to bring picnic mats, so we ended up renting a cottage at P100.

Anyhow, we had a great time. We also toured around the mini-zoo and the mini garden, took pictures and just had fun. When sunset came, we called it a day.

I hope you'll also enjoy the pictures!

Sabado Night

Serren just turned 21 on the 31st of March, but since it falls on a Thursday, he chose to move the celebration on a Saturday. He was able to gather friends of different cliques--the pharmacists, medtechs, nurses and other relatives. Although his family and best of friends weren't there to celebrate with him, I guess he also had fun that night with us.

We rented a KTV room at Sing Side in Dampa, Macapagal. And we ordered food in Aling Tonya's (which is basically the one we always went to when I was still staying in Cainta). Here are some of the photos taken tonight:

Sa wakas, 21 na daw sya! LOL

Friday Craze

It's a Friday once again and everyone is excited. Today marks the 1st of April--which is commonly known as April Fool's Day. Luckily, nobody at the office seemed to throw a prank at anyone, thus I was very relieved. FYI: I am always bullied at the office, how much more on a you-can-get-pranked day? Anyways, the day just went on smoothly. And in the afternoon, we gathered at out conference room to have a little salu-salo for Kuya Yong's birthday (I am not really sure how old he is already).

10-Day Challenge

I got this from Tezza's blog while I was blog hopping. And since this is much shorter and somehow easier to do than the 30-Day Challenge, I'll start with it tomorrow! Watch out for my 10 day challenge!

Day One: Ten random facts about yourself.
Day Two: Nine things you do everyday.
Day Three: Eight things that annoy you.
Day Four: Seven fears/phobias.
Day Five: Six songs that you’re addicted to.
Day Six: Five things you can’t live without.
Day Seven: Four memories you won’t forget.
Day Eight: Three words you can’t go a day without using.
Day Nine: Two things you wish you could do.
Day Ten: One person you can trust.

See you in my next post!

Post Valentine Date

I was supposed to meet my "date" last night, but unfortunately my sched does not conform to the time and place, thus, I ended up celebrating Vday at home. (Wanna know what happened to my Valentine's? Click here.)

So after I left the office early today, I headed to Mall of Asia. But I dropped by my house first to change. I did not just meet with my "Valentino", but with Tati and Charlie, too! It's still not too late to celebrate the Valentine's with a bunch of friends. Here are some of the photos taken this evening:

Valentine's With A Twist

I believe I have told you in my previous post on how I spend my typical Valentine's Day. And how random things surprise me, I celebrated it today with quite a twist. And I wanna thank my dearest amiga, Eriline Mae Descalsota and her boyfriend (my lifter way back then), John Andrew Delgado for making my day.

Let these photos do the talking:

Pre-Valentine Weekend

Like a few others, I am an occasion person. I seldom forget birthdays, anniversaries and the like. I love celebrating even simple stuff like acing an exam. Thus, Valentine's day is no exception. I may not have a "partner" to highlight it with romance, but I have plenty of friends to spend it with.

Actually, I still feel a little sad that I won't be able to celebrate V-day at home. Because FYI, our family celebrates it. And this year would be the third time that I am away from home. On 2009, I had my duty at the hospital, and last year (2010), I have to deal with my upcoming final thesis defense. My Mom would usually order a cake and the four of us will gather together like it's a big deal of a family affair. If I'm not mistaken, we even went to the beach way back grade school to just hang out on Valentine's. See? It may be an ordinary occasion to some families since some dwell more on the couples, the partners and the lovers, but not us. We were raised not to think of dates and getting swept off our feet during Valentine's. We grew up spending it  with our family and  spreading love to others (classmates or neighbors) through card giving or it can sometimes be an ice cream stick with a heart-shaped card saying "Happy Hearts Day" or a laminated heart bookmark, and the like. Things like those complete our Valentine's, and I somehow feel incomplete for not having done those for the past three years. Maybe, it's just a matter of getting used to on how I spend the hearts day. Nevertheless, I am still happy having my friends around during times like this.

Here are the photos of my Pre-Valentine Weekend:

Photos from last weekend (Mixed Emotions)

I promised here that I would share the pictures taken last weekend (Feb5-6) as soon as I get the chance, thus, I wanted to apologize for the delay of sharing the them. A lot has been happening lately and I couldn't just find the time to somehow put them all together. So, here they go:

Go Team Philippines

I love sports as much as my Dad loves it. He's one of those sporty guys I know, and he's the one who has influenced me to become a sports enthusiast though I am not that  healthy and fit to be one.

click photo to join!

I so love blogging. It allows me to freely express myself without the need of approval from an EIC or a proof-reader. Thanks to Ms. Kayce of My Life and My Journey Online for sharing the link. I then gladly obliged myself to be a part of this wonderful program, too! I wanna meet more bloggers and make new friends all over the blog-niverse.

Thursday Madness

I was sort of exhausted from yesterday's field work. I was not able to have lunch because I waited to be entertained by Dr. Duke (name has been changed for privacy reason) regarding the papers I am processing. Plus, I went home late because we have to attend to our lymphedema patient, as scheduled.

Today was quite uncanny. I started my day at the office having a tumbler of lukewarm coffee and a slice of bread. I did not feel sleepy nor did I feel alert either. It was just OK. I did my daily routine--preparing RFs, dispensing meds, answering phone calls, replying emails, and the like. I was just having a normal activity, on a normal day.
